I whipped up an authentic Trader Vic's Navy Grog tonight, and tried my hand at making a shaved-ice cone with a straw stuck through the middle. Then I got out the old camera tripod, and took a few cocktail/mug photos down in the Hai'deaway.
Here are a few photos from I, Zombie's luau last night in Minneapolis. We met a lot of nice folks and had a great time. The food and drink were excellent. We contributed a Mai Tai Pie, made from the recipe in Beachbum Berry's Taboo Table. It was a big hit.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of an original Witco fountain from the old Kapu Kai restaurant in Cucamunga, CA:
If you have any interest at all in Tiki, then you've probably visited Humuhumu's Critiki website at least once. I use it every time I travel, and rely on it heavily when attempting to locate Polynesian Pop venues in the vicinity of my destination. It's proved to be a truly indispensable tool over the years.
