I'm happy to report that two years after Hurricane Katrina, legendary New Orleans television personality, Morgus the Magnificent, is back on the job in the Crescent City, hosting late-night horror and science-fiction films, conducting questionable medical experiments, and rocking out with The Ghouls.

One N'awlins resident who, sadly, has not resurfaced since Katrina is Dr. Mysterian. His wonderful 'blog, The Essential Ghoul's Record Shelf, still lies a' moldering in the grave.

The sight of Hans Conried prancing around as Dr. T in his undulating undies with the Maribou frills, put me in mind of his old television show, Fractured Flickers, which featured silent film clips dubbed with inane, and frequently hilarious dialogue. Conried served as the show's narrator and also hosted a celebrity interview during each episode, while Jay Ward mainstays June Foray, Edward Everett Horton, and Paul Frees provided voice talent.

I've located 2 samples for your viewing edification: the first clip showcases the great animated opening and closing credits which are clearly linked at the hip with Dudley Do-Right, while the second clip is a very funny spoof of Fritz Lang's early talkie, M, featuring Peter Lorre's homicidal psychotic child murderer transformed into a struggling ex-smoker.
