Cute little animated forest creatures are here to sell us booze in this bizarre promotional film for PM whisky salesmen. Pour me a stiff one, Mr. Bear!

eFanzine is exhibiting a vastly entertaining collection of photographs from the 1957 London WorldCon science-fiction convention. Not only are there are a whole host of mid-century SF luminaries on hand, like Arthur C. Clarke, Brian Aldiss, Michael Moorcock, and Robert Silverberg, there's also a plethora of folks parading around in extremely silly spaceman costumes made out of aluminum foil, football helmets, and rabbit-ear TV antennas, along with what appears to be an early filk-singing session. Nice to see that, except for the quality of the costumes, things haven't changed much in the last 50 years.

I'm Learning to Share! posted these fantastic scans of the King Novelty Curio Catalog. It's filled with come-ons for bizarre folklore magic products like Lucky Mojo Room Spray and John the Conqueror Floor Wash. The vintage illustrations are terrific.
