Comparative Propaganda 101
The German Propaganda Archive contains an overwhelming array of visual and written material produced by the Nazis and communist East Germany. I thought that this article on Hitler Youth rites was particularly chilling.
Looking at this made me wonder why Soviet Russian and communist Chinese propaganda seems quaint, almost charming, compared to this stuff? When you consider that Stalin and Mao killed hundreds of millions in the name of their ideology, Hitler's atrocities...horrible as they were...seem almost pale by comparison.
