mom*mom e-mailed me this cool cover of the comic-book version of the cult-film classic, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. If you haven't seen this yet, you're only missing out on some of the worst dialogue, performances, special effects, and music ever committed to celluloid, with a plot that's dopey beyond belief. Current and former Los Angelenos will be thrilled and dismayed by My Dog Spot, a tribute to car dealer, Cal Worthington, whose trademark speedbanjo jingle, bizarre menagerie of beasties masquerading as canines, and promises to "stand on my head and eat a bug to sell you a car" were fondly remembered fixtures of my childhood late-night television viewing in LA.
