The Horror of Frankensinatra

Welcome to the Dead Lounge: where the fiendish Dr. Polarbeast stitches together pale, spindly limbs hacked off of rotting Goths, infuses them with the gleefully grinning spirits of evil Tikis, then reanimates his unholy creations in a high-voltage cocktail of Alien Urine Samples.

Don't forget to bring your little black cocktail umbrellas.

Fink Vs. Fink

Here's a link for the Bubblegumfink: the weblog of the mighty Coop, Positive Ape Index, puts some of his Finktastic collection of Finkabilia on display for our viewing pleasure.

Don't Eat the Brown 'Special Sauce'

scrubbles links to this marvelous essay on the bizarre alternate universe of old McDonald's commercials. The download times on some of these clips are pretty long, but definitely worth it, if only for the incredibly cheesy faux-psychedelic theme song that sounds like a bunch of hippies tripping on some mellow acid, the (ripped-off?) Sid and Marty Krofft ouevre, and Ronald McDonald with a giant 'fro. I'm not exactly lovin' it, but I am feeling very close to it in a platonic sort of way.

Bonus: TV Acres provides this helpful map of McDonaldLand for those of us too stoned to find the Hamburglar House.

Bad Week for S.H.A.D.O

Two stars of the cult television show UFO, Ed Bishop (Commander Ed Straker) and Michael Billington (Col. Paul Foster), both passed away last week.

May they ascend into a Paradise populated by 72 Moonbase chicks in aluminum miniskirts and purple wigs.

Behold...the Finkosel!

I've linked to John Detrich before, but I somehow missed this page detailing the Finkosel, a kiddie carousel he's building with Chuck Kaparich, that's populated with wooden sculptures of Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth characters like Brother Rat Fink instead of the traditional horsies and swans. Pretty damn sweet.

And while you're there, have a look at Chuck Kaparich's bitchin' kustomized 1947 DODGEM bumper car, the Thunderpig.
