Carrie Nations Rawk!

Behold, the bubblegum power and the psychedelic glory of The Carrie Nations, the awesomely hawt all-female ensemble from Russ Meyer's camp cult classic, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls! Music composed by the legendary Stu Phillips [Link], with vocals courtesy of the stainless-steel lungs of Lyn Carey [Link].

They Paved Paradise and Put Up a Heavy-Metal Parking Lot

metal_parking_lot.jpg

Back in 1986, public-access documentarian, Jeff Krulik interviewed the beer-swilling, acid-dropping throngs of metalheads hanging out in the parking lot outside the Capitol Center in Maryland, waiting for a Judas Priest concert to begin. The often pathetic, often hilarious result was Heavy Metal Parking Lot [Link: Quicktime]

And as you can see here in their other docs, Neil Diamond Parking Lot [Link] and Harry Potter Parking Lot [Link], they weren't averse to taking aim at the soft, white underbelly of MOR and English Boy Wizard fans either.

Cool and Strange Guitars

guitar10_small.jpg

musicgadget's Top 20 Strangest Guitars features a couple of bizarre axes that I've seen before, like the naughty Wangcaster (shown above), Nano Guitar, and the Harp Guitar, but most of them are new to me. I'd especially love to take a solo on the Guitar Theremin.
