"From a vintage June 1955 Spaceway magazine, 'psychic' Criswell, and friend Mae West, on the moon as predicted by Criswell after Mae is elected President of the United States."
And remember, my friend, future events such as these will affect you....IN THE FUTURE!

While you await my return from Down Under, please to enjoy this video of Raquel Welch dancing sexifully in scanty space lingerie.
UPDATE: thanks to the astute bOINGbOING readers who pointed out that the bizarre sculptures featured in the video were part of the Ruta de la Amistad public sculpture project at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, and that this clip came from Raquel's eponymous 1970 television special.

Yesterday, I was absolutely horrified to learn that Keanu Reeves has been tapped to star in a totally unnecessary remake of one of the finest Science Fiction films of all time, The Day the Earth Stood Still. I cannot begin to imagine how much this movie will suck with Mr. "I know Kung-fu" feebly trying to fill the giant shoes of Michael Rennie, who originally assayed the role of noble spaceman, Klaatu, . The only way this could possibly get any worse would be finding out that Eddie Murphy had been cast in the role of Gort....on second thought, that might not be so bad.
I'm Gort, dammit! I am supreme!
Seriously, Hollywood is dead. The corpse stinks. Bury it now.
