Come Fly With Me

Kudos to my pal Jonathan for pointing me to this way-cool IndyJunior Mapping Module. I've added it to my right sidebar so folks can see where I've been, where I am, and where I'm going. Just mouseover the points on the map for more information. The itty-bitty arrow in the bottom-left corner allows you to switch between a global and regional view.

Please don't hate IndyJunior because it's Flash, and let me know if it's making the page load too slowly.

I also got tired of the wimpy, undernourished little php script I use to track my referrals, so I did some googling and found the handsome, muscular (and free) AXS Visitor Tracking System. It wasn't exactly a cinch to install, but I'm quite happy with the output so far.

Aftershocks

Please note that some minor expansion and contraction has occurred in my blogroll. Do not be alarmed. I've added Uncle Jazzbeau's Gallimaufrey and Mock Turtle Soup, because I find them amusing, titallating, intellectually stimulating, all three, or none of the above. Please visit them early and often. I'll be adding more as the week progresses.

I've also dropped a few sites that linked to me initially, then pulled the Goof from their blogrolls. I say screw 'em. I ain't no free lunch, I'm a publicity whore, dammit, otherwise why would I bother with this?

I also got tired of trying to keep track of the various incarnations of Solipsistic and Penny Dreadful. Constantly moving a 'blog around and renaming it for unknown reasons without bothering to inform your audience is a cute publicity stunt the first couple of times it happens, but ultimately it becomes an irritation that I don't need. I loved them, but I'm going to try and learn to live without them.

Finally, I was quite pleased to discover that EotG had been selected by Grow-A-Brain as their Blog of the Day.

Finallyfinally, all that wasted space on the right side of the page is really starting to bug me. I'd like suggestions on how to fill it. Feel free to leave a comment or drop me an e-mail.

Spring Cleaning In December

You may have noticed some minor changes around here lately; favicons, format tweaks, even wholesale revisionism in some spots. That's because I'm finally getting off my lazy ass and slowly going through all of my online content to ensure that it's as bug-free and usable as I can make it. It's gonna take a while, my HTML skillz have never been particularly mad, and getting up to speed on CSS has been like climbing Pikes Peak using only my buttcheeks, so bear with me.

I was also getting embarrassed at how old a lot of that crap on Technopapal Indulgences really is. Some of it literally dates back all the way to the birth of the InterWeb when I first put it up on a friend's account that was hosted by an RV dealership. I'm not sure it's even worth preserving at this point.

In other news, I was recently contacted by Rob Mattison, one of the founding members of Pug Knows productions, the little band of comic-shop habitues who put together Chester's Chillers for our local public access station. He wants me to write a script for the 10th anniversary show. I'm still mulling it over.
