Internet Exploder Strikes Again
Despite the fact that I'm a Mozilla kind of guy, I occasionally take a look at the Goof with my seldom-used IE browser to ensure that things look more-or-less identical to what I'm seeing. Well, it appears that quite a few of the inline images I've put into my posts recently are not showing up in IE.
Since I use the exact same HTML syntax in every post, and all the images are .jpg format, I'm at a loss to explain why some appear and others don't.
Are there any gurus out there who'd care to enlighten me as to why this is occurring? I'd be much obliged.
UPDATE: after a visit to Micro$loth support, I just tried installing the new service pack for IE 6, it had no effect.
UPDATE to the UPDATE: this problem is caused by IE's inability to correctly parse the ALIGN property of the IMG tag. IE also appears to validate CSS alignment properties like "float", but still doesn't display images correctly when this property is defined in an inline IMG tag. Conclusion: IE is crap.
