Dave's Show Rod Rally

Dave's Show Rod Rally
page takes me back to the ancient past when I would lock myself in my room for hours, building hot rod model kits until I passed out from inhaling Testors glue. I also collected these cards. Dave Marek's original Kustom Kar art is pretty nifty as well. I really like his iPod rod (and the Tiki T too, 'natch).

Yet another fantastic link from Papel Continuo

My best memories of those things was building the Big Daddy Ed Roth kits with monsters buggged out eyes etc. I wish I saved one.

Roth was the greatest. You can still buy the models if you want to relive your childhood.

Ah, that smell. The smell of that glue. And the weird things it did to your skin when it dried on it. All those models; all long gone. Didn't save a one, nor did I destroy them. I guess they're somewhere ...

Ah, the brain damage! Yes, the glue was special. The stuff my son uses these days on his models is non-toxic...NON-TOXIC!!! What fun is that, I axe you?

Yes I looked up and found the very same kit I made some 30 years ago, it was called Mr. Gasser.
Very strange to get a window into someting I remember vividly from long ago. Yes and the toxic glue, I moved on to model airplanes and covered fabric demanded "Dope". Thank God I was sane enoguh to open the windows. Lastly do you think the Tiki T ever really exisited other than as a model? If it din't it should have . Mahalo.

Airplane dope....oooohhhh, yeah!!! I can feel my brain cells dying just thinki...wait, what *was* I thinking about?

Looks to me like the Tiki T is only artwork at this point, but I agree, somebody really should build it as a show rod.
