Uh oh, Chongo!
Remember the days before Boomerang, when you could get safely nostalgic about terrible kid shows like the Banana Splits without having to deal with the fact that they were utter crap? Now that I can watch practically the entire Hanna-Barbara catalog of saturday-morning excrement whenever I choose, I recall how painfully bad the limited-animation cartoons and the live-action Danger Island (directed by Richard Donner and starring Jan Michael Vincent!) were.
However, I'll admit to enjoying the earwormy theme song, especially the Dickies cover version (.rm). Come to think of it, the Johnny Quest-ish Danger Island theme (.mov) was pretty cool too.
