Mucho Mahalos to Trader Tiki for including my Scorpion Rising cocktail in his Mixology Monday: Rum roundup, featuring 34 ultra-sophisticated rum-based libations, and one cheap and tawdry kitchen experiment (mine). With you and Stevi on the list, "our people" are well represented.
A past executive in a previous incarnation of our company left behind a small collection of Cuban rums, including Matusalem Platino and the legendary Havana Club. Needless to say, i've been sampling them with some regularity and swearing i'll never go back inferior rum again.

Y'know, I hadn't realized she was on there until you pointed it out. I've been working my way through the list slowly, as there's so much good stuff there.
Platino is one of the few silver rums I can stand to drink, and I picked up a bottle of Ron Matusalem Gran Reserva on sale a few weeks ago that I'm ecstatic about, it's equally good for sippin' and mixin'.
