Gort and Klaatu's Bogus Journey

Keanu_Gumby.jpg

Yesterday, I was absolutely horrified to learn that Keanu Reeves has been tapped to star in a totally unnecessary remake of one of the finest Science Fiction films of all time, The Day the Earth Stood Still. I cannot begin to imagine how much this movie will suck with Mr. "I know Kung-fu" feebly trying to fill the giant shoes of Michael Rennie, who originally assayed the role of noble spaceman, Klaatu, . The only way this could possibly get any worse would be finding out that Eddie Murphy had been cast in the role of Gort....on second thought, that might not be so bad.

I'm Gort, dammit! I am supreme!

Seriously, Hollywood is dead. The corpse stinks. Bury it now.

as bad as the movie will be, it was worth it for that photoshop alone.

I can only take partial credit for the photoshoppery. Gumby was added by one of my Name That Film Flickr Pool homies.

Not only that, they're also doing a remake of the Curtis-Moore series "The Persuaders" with Hugh Grant and George Clooney...

Well, Clooney sort of works in either the Roger Moore or Tony Curtis role, but Hugh Grant?! Is he going to stand around throughout the show looking charmingly befuddled?

keanu should play a robot.

i just saw on your where is mr.bali hai global tracking map, that you'll be in australia next week. is that right? wow! i also saw your junior jetset self holding up a fluor tour group sign in russia!

Yup, I'm going to Melbourne next week. Not looking forward to the 18-hour plane flight...:-P
