The Cartoonist scoops Wire's new EP: Read and Burn 03. Hear his podcast interview with Colin Newman and clips of the new songs. It's great stuff. Nobody does that slow, droning burn like Wire does.

A Wire track that's ten minutes long? Amazing.
I'm interested in but not a fan of Wire (pretty much everything that isn't 12XU or Ahead is lost on me), but I'm glad to see they're still around, sort of. In much the same way (say) Halley's Comet is still around. I'll have to give the new EP a look-see.

I was a big Wire fan back in the 80s, but kind of forgot about them until The Cartoonist started doing these podcast interviews with Colin and his wife, Malka, earlier this year.
