Mixology Monday: The Seven Labors of Tiki-ercules

Lest you think I've gone all Sammy Maudlin on your asses with the departure of Son of Mr. BH, let me present you with my Mixology Monday Labor Day offering to the Tiki Gawds.

It's an absolutely perfect Labor Day outside: Sunny, 86 degrees, 40% humidity. I've got chicken breasts marinated in olive oil, pepper and onion grilling on the 'que, with red-potato salad, watermelon, and oriental broccoli-salad waiting to accompany it. What to drink with such a feast...what?MM-7.jpg

The Seven Labors of Tiki-ercules, that's what:

2 oz. Whaler's Dark Rum
1 oz. 10 Cane Rum
1 1/2 oz. Appleton XV Estate Rum
1/4 oz. Trader Vic's Macadamia Nut Liqueur
1/2 oz. Creme de Banana
1/2 oz. Kalani Coconut Liqueur
8 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 cup crushed ice
Garnish with....what-ever!

Pour all ingredients into a blender, saving ice for last. Blend on high speed for no more than 5 seconds, and pour into a hurricane glass.

Comments

Is one expected to be fully functional after imbibing said bevvie?

Of course not, don't be silly...:-)

I can't help it. I was born this way.

We all have our faults...:-)

Fault, sir? I consider it a mark of honour. I wear it with pride!

It looks good on you...:-)

Aww, you're too kind.

I'm swell that way...;-)

How gibbous of you.

Gibbous no..gementious, perhaps!

That's 21.75 ounces of tropical goodness -- 13.75 if one excludes the ice. Don't drop the entrée. :-)

7 3/4 ounces of alcohol, to be precise.

I adhere to the European school of imbibing: never drink on an empty stomach.
