Humpday Skull Mug Score

skull_mug.jpg

Seems like a long time since I've made any cool thrift-store scores, so I was pretty happy when I found this beautiful Norcrest skull mug today, tucked away in the corner of the local junque shoppe. No restaurant markings, but it's nicely detailed, and appears to be vintage, if the extremely crisp molding is any indication. Norcrest made at least one other type of skull mug that was a bit smaller and more abstract.

Sweet! You linked to my mug on Ooga-Mooga! I actually have two of this mug. One unmarked and the other marked "Islander Stockton" in gold paint...If that mug you have is larger than the ones I have, I would truly be surprised...as they are pretty hefty...

Love your site/blog BTW and check it out all of the time.

Hey CM, thanks for the info. I would love to be able to say definitely that this is from the Islander, but other than the Norcrest sticker on the bottom, there's no lettering of any kind.

It's about 5-inches tall. Is that the same size as the ones your have?

Glad you're enjoying my 'blog. Stop by and leave a comment anythime.
