Date With Miss Wong
Sorry for the minimal amount of posting activity lately, but work and health issues have been affecting me for the past couple of weeks.
Mrs. BH and I both came down with a very nasty middle-ear infection last month that gave me a bad case of vertigo and caused her to suffer severe hearing loss in one ear. I'm feeling better, but unfortunately, her prognosis is not so good, and it now appears that she will probably not fully recover her hearing due to permanent nerve damage. It's a bummer for her, especially since she lost most of her sense of smell a few years back due to a bad concussion. She jokes that if she loses any more senses, I'll have to start calling her Helen Keller. Obviously, her sense of humor is still intact.
In other news, I'm leaving for London tomorrow for a few days. I plan to meet up with the usual blogging suspects: Plep, The Cartoonist, Tiki Chris and Will Kane at Trailer Happiness in Notting Hill, where I'll be able to take a peek at their gigantic print of Tretchikoff's Green Lady, and have a couple of tasty drinks.
See you in the funny papers.

Aloha BH,
No, I'm not back. I clicked on your link, and I don't know who Blair is. When I tried to reclaim that URL from Blogger it was unavailable. I've been going back and forth on whether to just pay for a host and open bubblegumfink.com
Best wishes to the wife. I have some hearing issues as well.Mine stupidly come from going to more concerts than Pete Townsend. Tell her the best music is in mono anyway. -Fink

Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone!
Dave, my offer to give you a subdomain of mrbalihai.com for all of your bubblegum-finky needs still stands.

Sending good vibes to you and Mrs Balihai. She might want to get a second opinion, my experience with ENTs is that they sometimes exhibit sheer laziness.
Posted by: Stacia | May 22, 2007 6:45 AM
mod*mom: what's a blog button?
Stacia: yes, her ENT was very resistant to trying any alternate therapies, so she'll be visiting another one soon. Unfortunately, she has a very short time window to act in before the damage becomes irreversible.

Sense of Humour... *groan* Seriously though, all the best to Mrs. BH. Hear's hoping it all turns out ok. (Hears!)

Wow! I am really intrigued by the giant wall mural of Tretchikoff's Green Lady. Please find out for me who made it, how it was made. was it painted or blown up from a print? I found this same print but much smaller, at a yard sale a few years ago and sold it on ebay. I am sorry I did. I would love to have that print again. Thanks, Vanessa

Vanessa, the mural was an enlarged print. There were several other smaller Tretchikoffs hanging on the walls.
