I Humbly Accept

Humu has graciously nominated me for a Blogger's Choice Award for Best Pop Culture Blog.

Of course, my chances of actually winning against the heavy-hitters currently listed in that category are probably close to nil, but it's always very nice to receive some recognition. In the 4 years that've passed since the Eye first opened for business, I've always enjoyed the support and encouragement of my blogging peers, and that's pretty much the only thing that keeps me from blowing this pop-cultural popsicle stand (it sure ain't the gigantic volume of site traffic).

I love you all and want to bear your children (in test tubes).

Congrats. No. Really.

(kidding)

Hey- there's no way to mail you......

Thanks. No. Really.

I was getting a ton of spam from that cgi mail interface, so I had to take it down temporarily. I'll put it back up when I figure out how to make it more secure.

Chances, schmances... dangit, ya deserve the recognition. If we aren't willing to stand up for the blogs we love, then what *will* we stand up for? ¡Viva la revolucion!

You're right. I'll go prepare my Sally Field, "You Like Me, You Really Like Me!" acceptance speech.

And didja notice that about 80% of the 'blogs nominated in the pop-cultural category don't even remotely qualify as such? Sheesh.

Good! You got my vote. But, please, don't go strapless on us.

I'll be wearing this very tasteful Cher ensemble.

One more time?! I thought you tried to avoid being seen in the same outfit twice.

MrBaliHai for President! If you win - you'll invite us all to Hawaii for a big party? Thanks!

I want to be El Tiki Presidente for Life!

Instead of a Presidental Library you get your own Island with tons of Hula Girls and several Bars.

BTW: Looking through all these nominations ... it's frustrating that mostly crappy sites get the most votes. And young fertile females have the best chances overall.

Just like real life...:-/
