Entrevista de los Dangerous

Reason Online interviews Jackson Publick, co-creator of the greatest cartoon in history, The Venture Brothers. For fans like me, most of this is boilerplate, but it offers some interesting insights into the thinking behind his often brilliant deconstruction of adventure cartoons and comic-book superheroes.

If you're not hip to the VB, you need to hie thyself hither and watch until your eyes bleed. [Link]

Gosh, I remember when you were ambivalent about the show. I haven't seen any of the 2nd season. How did they come back from the boys' destruction at the end of season 1? Or did they just ignore that.

For my money, the remarkable thing about the show is that it has more character depth and development than most live action series.

Was I ambivalent? I don't recall.

As for how they got around the deaths of Hank and Dean, I was just going to tell you to watch the episode at the link I posted, but it looks like the account got yanked.

One word: clones.

Also, the 2nd season cliffhanger ends with Dr. Girlfriend revealing her dark secret to the Monarch.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to discover and like this show. Frankly it is my favorite TV show, and I always worried that no one else would get the humor and AS wouldn't bring it back.

What other program has ever referenced Klaus Nomi?

I'm still a bit worried that Adult Swim will cancel the show. They certainly are doing almost nothing to promote it, and if they bother to show any reruns, they always seem to be on at 2am.
