Flash!.....Aaaahhhhh!
This excellent Spanish site is dedicated to Flash Gordon in all of his incarnations, from the original Alex Raymond comics to the smutty European television show I used to watch when I lived in Denmark as a child. Practically every link is an eye-candy overdose.

Irene Champlin is a dog! I don't know how they could get away with using someone so butt-ugly as Dale Arden.
I liked the Buster Crabbe and the Sam J. Jones versions best, anyway.

Champlin really looks like a drag queen in that opening credits shot.

I think Flash should be redone - especially with CGI you could all those whacky places and people. Would make a great kiddie show ...

I'd rather see the 1980 version re-released with cleaned up effects (and the horrible Queen soundtrack replaced).

Well the 1980's version is a pop Opera - for me it works perfectly.
But I am really thinking a completely new series, maybe even a cartoon. That should be fun.

Brendan Fraser would make a great Flash - although he is already too old. Hmmm.
Who should play Ming? Billy Bob Thornton?
Posted by: orangeguru | March 17, 2007 8:51 AM
Yeah, Billy Bob, then they can call it "Ming Blade".
But with our luck, it'll get produced by Tom Cruise's new Scientology-based Hollywood film studio, so we'll get John Travolta as Ming, Kirstie Alley as Dale, and the Cruisemaster himself as Flash...:-P

Harhar.
If we are really lucky it gets either produced by Oprah or Teresa Orlowski ... so we either get a lot of tears or a lot of naked Flesh ... jahaaaa!
But there was already a pr0n version of Flash Gordon - never saw it.

That would be "Flesh Gordon". It had some pretty good SFX for its time, actually. John Dykstra of Star Wars fame worked on it. The attack of the Penisaurus is a hilariously bad bit of stop-action animation.
