Thirst Extinguisher
As I'm sitting here, enjoying an excellent bottle of Sea Wynde Rum given to me by a cow-orker today, it seems like the perfect time to point you to Expo33's fine collection of vintage barware, and Flickr pool for collectors, so if you've got photos of old cocktail shakers, glasses, or other barphemera you'd like to share, join up.
Mmm, I think I need another shot of this stuff. Later!

I note, on the site hosting the Sea Wynde Rum, an ad concerning the International Cane Spirits Festival, to be held in March in Ybor City, Florida. I envision a rum tasting at which those little alcoholic bubbles float over everyone's heads, as they stumble over their attempts at rum-connoisseur-talk.

Considering that most rums check in at between 80-90 proof, I don't imagine it would take very long for the participants in a rum-tasting festival to get a whole cloud of those little bubbles swirling around their noggins.

You would have loved my grandfather's rumpus room. It was a 800 square foot room built in the backyard with a bar and sink and all sorts of vintage bar stuff. He had one of those little men in your picture, too. Along with a bunch of neon signs, a dart board, pool table, and much more.

800-sq. ft.!? Must've been a helluva lot of "rumpus" goin' on!

don't mean to brag, don't mean to boast, but this past weekend my wife (i didn't due to dietary restriction) had a sample of some british navy rum bottled in 1730 and found in a shipwreck within the past decade. apparently it was pretty SMOOTH.,.,.,.

You mean you weren't willing to risk religious or health consequences for a chance to try some 277-year old rum? Poseur...;-)
