Referential Gratitude
Thanks to everyone who's linked to the Goof in the past week or so. Your patronage is much appreciated. It's been nice seeing all the new referrals coming in that aren't from Google image search. Work has been keeping me super busy lately, but I'll try not to get too far behind on the updates.

In other news, Mrs. Bali Hai's birthday was on Thursday. We celebrated by going out for Teppanyaki. I got her a new laptop, and the kids gave her a laptop bag and USB mouse to go with it. Today, I'm cooking her a belated birthday dinner of Jamaican-jerked pork roast, white rice, and Cuban-style frijoles negroes, with a Nigella Lawson chocolate cloud cake and a bottle of 2003 Renwood Amador Ice Zinfandel for dessert.
Adios.

rone: I would've thought you'd want the Eiswein more.
The recipe is simple:
1 lb. pork tenderloin
2 tsp. dried onions
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. powdered ginger
1/4 tsp. allspice
pinch of ground cloves
Mix all the spices in a bowl, then rub on all sides of the pork roast. Place in a crockpot with 2 cups of fat-free beef broth and cook on low heat for 8 hours.
Whisk together 3 tbsp. of cold water and 2 tbsp. of cornstarch. Pour the leftover broth into a saucepan and mix in the cornstarch/water. Stir over medium heat until it thickens. Serve over pork slices.
