Retro Arcade

retro_arcade.jpg

Hang out and spend a few tokens in Retro Arcade, an amazing Flickr photo collection of color promotional slides from the old Time Out arcade chain, rescued from the dumpster by a former employee. I used to manage an arcade back in the early 80s, so I've worked on quite a few of the mechanisms on display here.

Be sure to take a look at his other photosets. This Electronic Games gallery is fabulous.

mr.balihai post again

I just needed a little break. We'll see how long I can stay motivated before I have to take another one.

You worked in an arcade in the early '80s? Whoa, you must have been well loved, man! Thank you for sharing this one. I am looking to go all out for a retro motif in one of the bungalow bedrooms. This was truly inspiring. Great stuff! Yeah, that room is really coming together in my mind after that slideshow. Can even hook up the old Atari and Bally systems in there. Yay!

Hey Katya, I thought you bailed out of Oddio Overplay. glad to see that you're still around.

Actually, I wasn't too popular with the kids in the arcade since I was kind of a hardass. I kept all the games in perfect working condition though, so they couldn't complain about lousy play action.

Good luck with the bungalow remodel. Post pictures when you're done!
