It Is Finished
Wahines and Kanes, Keikis and Kaikamahines: I'm pleased to announce that after many months of hard work, Balis' Hai'deaway is now open. Please come on in, sit down, and have a virtual look around while I mix you up a fruity cocktail or three as the tropical sounds of Martin Denny and traditional Polynesian music waft along the humid island breezes. Play some pinball if you wish, it's set to free play.

WOW! This IS the REAL THING! You are my hero Mr. Bali Hai.

Very impressive. About the only thing missing is an outrigger canoe suspended from the ceiling.

Meticulous, man! You've brought interior decoration to a whole new level.

Gratulation! I'll drink to that ...

Just out of curiousity:
What are we suppose to read while you're ripping away on the pinball machine?
Posted by: Sebastian | December 11, 2005 7:32 AM
Fritz: I thought about an outrigger, but the ceiling's too low.
Sebastian: You can pick from Kon-tiki, Aku-aku, Tiki Gods and Hula Girls, The Book of Tiki, Beachbum Berry's Grog Log, Hawaiian Mythology, Tiki Road Trip, or Trader Vic's Cookbook.

MrBaliHai - Thanks for the edit. And ... I take the Hula girls (yeah, the second half!).
Posted by: Sebastian | December 11, 2005 2:35 PM
Hula girls...definitely!

Wow... that's really cool! I request Martin Denny's "Hypnotique" and a Mai Tai, please.

Ever see these photos?

Comin' right up, Matt.
I've seen Hallis' site before, Fritz, but that Crown Tiki page must be new. I recognize a lot of the carvings in the photos from Oceanic Arts, in fact, I own a couple of them.

jaime: tempting, but unwise. I suck at customer relations.
Posted by: MrBaliHai | December 12, 2005 10:12 AM
silly man, that's what the buxom hawaiian girls in coconut bras and strangely grass-bare grass skirts are for! anyhow i'll just have to wait until i'm in the neighborhood to "get my tiki on."

Wow, that's fantastic. I'm green with envy, but it matches the decor pretty well, so I'll stick with it.
