Playing the Back 9 of Life
Today is my 46th birthday. I'm now officially older than dirt and beginning my slow decline into senility, loss of mobility, and incontinence. Break out the aluminum walker and adult Depends[tm].
As a gift to myself, I'm taking the day off and heading over to Stillwater, MN with my wife and mom to do some antiquing while the kids are in school, then we'll all go out for dinner this evening at a fine dining establishment of my choice.
In other news, the tiki bar is progressing by leaps and bounds this week and it's looking fantastic if I do say so myself. The entrance to the bar area is going to be magnificent when it's finished. I have to give a lot of credit to my contractor Dan for doing such a great job implementing my original plans. He's really enjoying the opportunity to do something different and creative. Ironically, he's also a recovering alcoholic (maybe I will be too a couple of months from now).
Smell you later.

God, you're even older than I am. Had no idea.
Happy birthday, old man.

xf: and I had no idea you were younger than me; you seemed much older on teedotbee.
cg: thanks! they just finished nailing up the bamboo, so it looks even better now than those last couple of photos.
jaime: okay, let's just say that I'm older than leafy mulch then.
Time for dinner and few drinks. Thanks for the b-day wishes, all.

Happy Birthday! Hope you've been having a grand day. The tiki bar really is looking fantastic, it's going to be great. Hey, I built the Humuhumu Room as a joint project with my probably-alcoholic father; it was a great experience for us to do something alcohol-related and yet positive together. Maybe it's the same for your contractor. Enjoy dinner!

Hey, happy birthday! You're only a few years older than me, but what's important is, you're still older.
Actually, I don't mind getting older. I have a feeling you don't have much of a problem with it, either.

Ralf, try lighting a candle and offering a prayer to St. Freddie Mercury and the Fat-Bottomed Sisters of Mercy...;-)

Wow! I thought you were at most 30. As long as you didn't choose to have dinner at a buffet place you aren't that old yet. Happy birthday!

Get off my lawn!

Happy birfday, MrBaliHai. Now, we are the same age, at least until the end of the year. And the age of dirt is one year more than your current age. (I have it on good authority.)

Collin: I don't do boo-fay unless it's the Sunday Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues, and the nearest one is in Chicago.
M.Ace: is your shotgun loaded with rock salt?
Jim: may we both compost more slowly than our contemporaries.
og: dankeschoen, du junges Haderlump!

Happy Birthday MrBaliHai.
Don't worry about the decline into senility or the loss of mobility. It won't happen so soon.
I know because I'm turning 56 next Tuesday and these things haven't happened to me yet.
The incontinence part however, yes, that one is true. :)

Happy Birthday!
I'm constantly forgetting how close we are in age, because you don't look anywhere near 46.

Gerard, maybe you're eating too many Krokets?...;-)
you don't look anywhere near 46.
Neither do you, young lady!
