When Bubblecars Ruled the Autobahn

The BMW Isetta, AKA "Die Rollende Ei" (The Rolling Egg): here are some awaiting restoration, others with trailers, manufacturer's literature, advertising, illustrations, and of course, toys. Elvis drove one, and they've even inspired their owners to poetry. Can there ever be too many sites about bubble cars? I don't think so.
Thanks to Control-o-blog for starting me on this cramped journey

I rode in them when I was a kid, living in Europe.

I saw one of these in a Bonn parking garage this time round in Europe. Cool and tiny!

My friend, Monika, who lives just south of Bad Godesberg, was ecstatic to see one in such good condition and obviously in running order. It might have fit in the back of our rented Citroën, but probably wouldn't have fit in the overhead compartment during our flight home. Hmm, German larceny.
