No Milk Today
My company is in the throes of yet another layoff, and my department always seems to get hit disproportionately, so I haven't been much in the mood for blogging lately.
If I survive the week, I'm scheduled to fly to Amsterdam on Friday. After all this upheaval, I'm going to need a good, strong cup of black coffee, if you know what I mean.
TTFN.
UPDATE: I didn't get the axe.
Comments

Long ago I remember going to the library and reading a book that contained outlines of philosophers. At this point in my life I have decided on my own philosophy which can be boiled down to "Before you know it it is all over and you are dead" Changes
are now more welcome because they give me more flavor before I check out. Go wid de flow bro.
Good Luck.

Hmm, you sound like the lady who was our "Vice President of Change Management". No shit, we had a VP in charge of managing layoffs. She got laid off, of course. She used to send out corporate memos telling us to stand at the edge of the building, spread our wings, and jump off.
I've been through this process about 14 times in the last 10 years, so I'm totally ready to get on with my life someplace else if I get the axe tomorrow.

Unfortunately, we lost one of our best people (for no reason that I could fathom) and kept a couple of folks who I consider to be heatloads, so it's pretty clear that the cuts were mandated by someone who has no clue what our department actually does.
Although I'm relieved that I don't have to start looking for a new job right away, I plan to begin circulating my resume. I really don't have any confidence that my company's going to pull out of this tailspin. We've been losing money with the same group of clowns driving the little car for the past 4 years now.
