Horrors Of Ivan
When I picked up the first issue of Reid Fleming, World's Toughest Milkman (entire issue online! READ NOW!!) back in 1980, I found myself fascinated by Dave Boswell's intricate illustrations, along with the caustic, yet surreal personality of his titular hero.
I waited patiently for each issue, even though years passed between them when Boswell took a break to write the script for a Reid movie intended for either Jim Belushi, Bobcat Goldthwaite, or Jon Lovitz, depending on which account you choose to believe. Fortunately for all of us, perhaps, the film was never made.
Several years ago, I stumbled across the Deep Sea Comics website, and e-mailed Mr. Boswell with an urgent request to explain the concept of a Nanaimo Hummer to me, to which he replied promptly and graciously. I'd explain it to you as well, but I'm afraid that you're all much too young. Suffice it to say that it's not a mixed drink or a delicious ice-cream treat.
