Musique Diabolik

A couple of recent posts on Bedazzled, a most excellent movie and music 'blog, have showcased Ennio Morricone's amazing soundtrack for Danger: Diabolik, one of my favorite psychotronic films. Listen to Driving Decoys and Deep, Deep Down for maximum mind-alteration.

Thanks. Good listening. Any new news on the DVD release they keep teasing us with?

I haven't heard anything about it for a couple of years. Ironically, it was the soundtrack that was holding up the release back then; apparently, the original tapes burned up in a fire in director Mario Bava's garage. What you heard on those mp3s is a re-recording from a print of the film.

Thanks for those fab tracks. I've never heard "Deep Deep Down" sung in English before. And so fetchingly, too!

That's odd. It's on the soundtrack of the VHS version of the film I bought a couple of years ago. In fact, it pops up on the soundtrack so many times that I was starting to sing along (my wife sang harmony).
