Dolemite should not be confused with DOLOMITE (CaMg(CO3)2, Calcium Magnesium Carbonate), which is named for the French mineralogist Deodat de Dolomieu, and is a common sedimentary rock-forming mineral that can be found in massive beds several hundred feet thick.
