Entremeses (Appetizers)
¡Hola! My family and I have returned after two weeks in Spain. We are happy to be home. Overall, we had a great time, but like all vacations, this one had a couple of lowpoints; chief among them:
Our trip to the Port Aventura theme park featured brutal heat and humidity, coupled with a near total lack of crowd control. While their tagline, "You won't be able TO STOP SCREAMING," would seem to refer to their premier rollercoaster, the Dragon Khan, in our case it applied to the painfully hideous sight of horribly overweight, sweaty, shirtless Eurotrash tourists, who wandered the park completely oblivious to this helpful sign that was posted all over the park.
ATTENTION VISITORS TO SPAIN: PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE YOUR SHIRTS!
Northworst/KLM also managed to lose my suitcase somewhere in transit between Barcelona and Detroit, and thanks to the zealousness of US Customs agents in rooting out contraband sausage and cheese, we nearly missed our final connecting flight, but other than that, we emerged unscathed on the return trip
I'll be posting a narrative of my adventures over the next couple of days. In the meantime, please feel free to have a look at my trip photos:

P.S. Special thanks go out to our dear friends, Mark and Rosa, without whom this trip would not have been even remotely possible!

Thanks. It's good to be back.
I moved your link to the Charlie Goes to Hell entry where it seems more on topic and less like political comment spam.

Welcome home, Mr BaliHai. I would've thought that all of Europa was a theme park ...

Only in August, Jim. Only in August.

And, yet, people are shocked when I tell them I'm going to Europe in winter. Still my favorite season.

Yes, I've always had my best European vacations in late Fall or Winter. We chose August this time due to the availability of my friend's apartment.
