My Brain's in Spain...

...but my body's still in Boulder.

Nothing much shaking here in the epicenter of Granola Liberalism. What could someone like me possibly find interesting about a city where the members of ashrams seem to outnumber churchgoers, whose Democratic primary delegates still consider apparent acid-casualty, Dennis Kucinich, a viable candidate, and where tie-dye clad yuppies who drive BMWs begin and end telephone calls with "Peace" instead of "Hello"?

That was a rhetorical question, obviously.

So I'm just biding my time here until the weekend when my friends have invited me up to their condo in Winter Park where I plan to imbibe lots of wine and spirits, then pull every ligament in my chest mountain biking like I did last year.

Unfortunately, I appear to have missed Hog Fest, so the town won't be overrun with fat, tattooed, baldheaded bikers and saggy breasted, big-haired old ladies riding their unmuffled bikes until the wee hours. What a shame.

That's all for now. I'll post something interesting one of these days...maybe.

For the record, Mr Kucinich got the endorsement of New Mexico governor Bill Richardson and is still very popular here. Well, in Santa Fe, anyway. I still occasionally see a Kucinich bumper sticker, and, rarely, a Kucinich sign.

I never paid much attention to him, especially after Richardson endorsed him, so I don't know anything about his policies, etc. How's he an acid casualty?

Santa Fe, eh? He seems like more of a Taos guy to me. As for his acid-casualty-ness, please note my use of the qualifier "apparent", but I figure anyone whose message resonates that much with the Boulder crowd has probably licked a tab of purple Owsley at least once in his life.
