Uphold Ridiculously Priced Kitsch With All Your Strength!
Great online collection of Communist Kitsch posters here, but Sweet Beloved Leader on a Crutch, lookit the prices they're asking for them! I saw most of those posters last week at the Hong Qiao Shichang market in Beijing going for the equivalent of around $5, and that was the pre-haggle price!
I'll have to bring an empty suitcase with me on my next visit, fill it up with Mao memorabilia, and sell it all on eBay when I get back...

Wow. Five bucks??!!
I remember haggling hard for propoganda posters in Hong Kong. They wouldn't go below $30.

Not too surprising that the prices are so much lower in Beijing when you consider just how much old propaganda they've got on hand to unload on us nostalgic tourists...=^D

plus, hk is just plain expensive. it's like the difference between a thrift shop in nyc and a thrift shop in some small town in middle america...
